The screen industry has matured in important ways. A generation of filmmakers has learned how to drive films through the long cycle from development through production, post-production and release. They’ve also learned how to ride the waves of disruption – from smartphones to social media and streaming – and figured out how to build successful screen businesses. And along the way they’ve created films that have profoundly shaped the culture.
RAINMAKERS is about sharing that hard-won business know-how. During 2025, through workshops and one-on-one mentoring, some of our most successful filmmakers will help the next generation of up-and-coming filmmakers navigate the critical next steps in their careers.
The RAINMAKERS project is a collaboration between Vista Foundation and the Compton School, in association with Script To Screen and the New Zealand Film Commission.
