The Vista Foundation is proud to support Greenlit’s Sustainable Screen Training programme. This new initiative aims to lift sustainability best practice across Aotearoa’s screen industry.
Our funding backs the training at the heart of the programme. It offers hands-on development for sustainability managers, the people who lead this work day to day on a production. Participants build practical skills in carbon measurement, planning, supplier engagement and reporting, using tools and frameworks already in use across Aotearoa.
The programme also includes workshops for producers, supported by NZ On Air. Funded pilot placements on local productions, supported by the New Zealand Film Commission, let graduates step straight into real work.
The first cohort recently met for an in-person training weekend hosted by Studio West. It’s the start of a growing network of skilled people ready to lead sustainability on productions across the motu.
A good sustainability manager does more than reduce a production’s footprint. Smarter resourcing, less waste and better planning add up to real savings on the budget.
