ABOUT DAY ONE HĀPAI TE HAEATA
Day One Hāpai te Haeata (formerly known as The Outlook for Someday) is a project that has been running since 2007 to develop, uplift and amplify the voices of Aotearoa’s young people through film. Day One is a platform and learning hub for young filmmakers across Aotearoa.
Day One is a platform and learning hub with a range of programmes to empower young people across Aotearoa New Zealand to explore their unique voices through filmmaking. We aim to encourage rangatahi to examine the world around them, tell their stories and share their perspectives of what they see, hear, and feel.
Someday Challenge and Someday Stories have become Day One Challenge (a short film competition for people 24 and under) and Day One Shorts (short film funding) and will continue to offer upskilling opportunities for rangatahi across Aotearoa.
Day One is run by Connected Media Charitable Trust and is made possible through funding and donations.
