After seven sold out city finals, the Grand Final was again at the Embassy in Wellington. These were inspiring events with the energy and support of the participants, and the crowd, for all the finalists making them all fun nights.
Some great comments were received from participants which show the impact the VF48 hours for the industry:
“Witnessing the enthusiasm and dedication to learning and
creating together was truly inspiring. It's moments like these that
remind me of the excitement and potential within the filmmaking
community, and it fills me with optimism for the future of the
industry.”
“Seeing something you thought was impossible come impossibly
into reality. The serendipitous moments. The pure fun. The bonding”
A big shout out to all the sponsors and supporters of the VF48 hour event, and the judges, as without you we couldn’t make this happen. Special thanks to Sir Peter Jackson for his input to the judging, and his cameo video at the grand final.
The films that made the finals were of an awesome standard and we congratulate everyone that submitted a film, but special mention to all the finalists and winners, and of course to the supreme winning team Nuggets, with their film Chicken.
